Devil’s Food, PB Cups and Cinnamon Chocolate Frosting

Devils Food w Cinnamon Choco Frosting

I was testing out a few flavor options and came across a Mexican chocolate frosting recipe. I thought to myself…I wonder how it would be if I just omitted the chile and kept the cinnamon? The end result was a frosting that I could totally eat right out of the bowl (this may be before some folks time, but if you have seen “Death Becomes Her” just imagine me looking like Goldie Hawn’s character post break-up with Bruce Willis, mowing down on frosting from the can).

I followed this recipe:Β http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ingrid-hoffmann/double-feature-cupcakes-with-mexican-hot-chocolate-frosting-recipe0.html

I simply omitted the chile and left the recommended amount of cinnamon the same. It’s a light, bright and airy chocolate frosting recipe that has become an instant favorite of mine. You could leave out the cinnamon entirely for a straight up delicious chocolate frosting to put on…well, to put on just about ANYTHING.
